2023-2024 Home School Connection, week 29

Summer Boost!

Hi Eagles,

In like a  lion and out like a lamb is a phrase used to describe the weather. At the start of March, we saw a roaring weather with rain and winds. By the end of the month, we hope to see calmer weather, much like the gentleness of a lamb. Similar to the weather, we are busy preparing for the upcoming state SBAC test in grades 3-5. Our classrooms are busy preparing for a calm April, the start of the spring testing season. What can you do to support your child now? Here are a few ideas below.

  • Help your child build their reading stamina by reading every night. Increase the duration from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

  • Have your child prepare their materials for school the night before! Plug in the chromebook, put the backpack by the door, set out shoes for the morning.

  • Make sure your child gets a healthy breakfast in the morning. We serve breakfast at school at 7:30.

  • Set a routine for bedtime and stick to it! It’s important they get 9-12 hours of sleep according to the Sleep Foundation.

Helping your child build good habits starts today and leads to success in the years to come!

It’s not too late…  Summer School will be at Pioneer this year! If you are interested, sign up using the QR code on the flyer or on our website. We’re looking forward to another fun summer!

Help us keep everyone safe when you are near campus. We have contacted UCPD for assistance~Thank you for your continued support!

Our staff parking lot is for “staff only”.  They need a place to park when they arrive at school or return from lunch.  The visitor parking spots located in the front of the school are for visitors, not drop off or pick up parking also.
