2023-2024

Episode 1: We are the Equity Council!

Students from our Pioneer Equity Council talk about the four themes shared in this year’s Character Strong program- Respect, Responsibility, Gratitude, and Empathy. Each month, our school has focused on a character trait and we work on ways we can show our learning at home and at school. We invite you to listen and learn with us!

Episode 2: School Lunch~ Don’t Yuck My Yum!

Fifth Grade Students, Penny and Olivia, share their thoughts about our school lunch. People have different tastes so remember not to yuck someone’s yum! Listen and learn with us!
 
Episode 3: The Lessons we learned from Black History Month
Fourth grade students reflect on the lessons learned from Black History Month. Why is it important to learn about Black history? How does it inspire you? Listen in as Alexandra, Ariana, and Camila talk about the lessons learned. Come listen and learn with us!

 

2022-2023

Episode 1: American Muslim Awareness Month:  In this Episode, we discuss ways we can build an inclusive environment. We learn about each other through family stories and talk about things we’ve done to eliminate hate speech and promote respect.

Episode 2: Sikh Awareness Month: Happy New year Eagles! In this episode, we continue our conversation about how we develop a sense of belonging at Pioneer. Students discuss Sikh Awareness and ways we can learn about each other’s culture.

Episode 3: Black History Month: For Black History month, we held a writing contest to gather stories about the important contributions of our black community. A committee of students and staff looked at entries. In this podcast, we think about this experience and reflect on what we’ve learned in looking at the many entries submitted.

Episode 4: Women’s History Month: Why is it important to study Women’s History? How does it affect our history? Students in our fifth grade talk about the impact of women who shape our history. We invite you to listen and learn with us.

Episode 5: Our Pioneer Equity Council held the last meeting of the school year. We celebrate and reflect on our work. We are so proud of our learning! We invite you to listen to our podcast and join us on our reflection.
