2025-2026 Home to School Connection Wk. 23

Hello Eagles,

It is amazing that we are entering the last week of January, school is moving fast!  I wanted to share some exciting conversations that happened at school last week in our Equity Council Meeting.  Pioneer is in the process of implementing a student behavior system called PBIS or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.  This system helps use positive reinforcement to teach students appropriate school behaviors.  Pioneer is in the development phase of the process this year, with a planned roll out of the system for the next school year.  A big part of the process is identifying specific appropriate behaviors for students in areas all around campus and then explicitly teaching those behaviors.  Student input and voice is also an important part of this process and last Wednesday the student members of our Equity Council provided outstanding feedback about good behaviors and areas of improvement that they see around campus.  We will share this feedback with the staff as we refine our campus expectations for next year.  Thank you Equity Council for your input!!!

We hope everyone who was able to attend last week’s PTC Bingo Night had a great time. Remember that we have other upcoming PTC events we hope you can join us at.   There is a PTC coffee social scheduled for 2/6 at 7:45am and the PTC Family Dance Night is scheduled for 2/13 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria.  More information to follow about both of these events.  We would love to see you at either event!!!

Please take the time to fill out the district parent LCAP survey when you have a moment.  This is an opportunity for you to provide Pioneer and New Haven Unified feedback on our progress as a district.  The link to the survey is here: LCAP Survey.  Please try to get the survey completed by the end of the month.  Your Feedback is very important to us!!!

A couple of important reminders, there is a Minimum Day on Wednesday, 2/28.  Students will be released at 12:05pm.  Also, if your students are interested in a football camp, here is a flyer for the second year of the Sandor Strong Football Camp at Logan.  It is for ages 7 to 14.  Flyer.
