Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day to everyone! While we are all happy about a day off, it is important to remember why we celebrate on Monday. Martin Luther King Jr. fought for the civil rights of an entire generation of people in the United States. He did so while teaching and practicing non-violence. These are traits that we teach and support at Pioneer Elementary, please take a moment this weekend and discuss this important historical figure with your student.
We would love for our families to be involved at school as much as possible and want to remind everyone that our PTC will be hosting a bingo night on January 21st at 6:30 PM. Flyers went home in last week’s Thursday envelopes. We also have a PTC coffee social scheduled for 2/6 at 7:45am. We would love to see you at either event!!!
Next week, on Tuesday, January 27, our 5th grade students will be taking an important first step in their journey to Middle School next year. They will be visiting IVCMS, where they will have an opportunity to tour the school, get a taste of Middle School student life and learn about the choices they have for their classes next year. 5th grade parents, please take this opportunity to talk to your student about this important information and help decide their course selections for next year.
