Principal’s Message: 2022-2023 School Year

Dear Pioneer Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! We look forward to an exciting in-person year with our students and families.

Safety is a priority! There are many safety protocols that will be reinforced under the guidance of or district, county, and state officials. Please partner with us to maintain safety at school for all students. I invite you to stay informed by visiting our website and joining our Facebook or Instagram accounts. We are committed to supporting your child, giving the best school year possible.

Our Assistant Principal, Ms. Lisa Mata, and I are honored to work beside a dedicated and kind staff. We always begin by reflecting on the successes and challenges of the past and then create new goals for our future. Having a growth mindset, learning through mistakes, and persevering through difficult moments is the key to achieving academic success. By combining our efforts and supporting our children in these endeavors together, they will be well prepared for college, career, and life.

This school year, we continue to work on our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program (also known as PBIS) to help us build a positive school culture while improving parent engagement and student attendance. PBIS helps us move towards “expected behaviors” rather than direct punishment. PBIS, Kimochi, Character Strong, Restorative Justice, and Mindfulness are some of the programs we use to support the social-emotional development of our students.

We are also a school that believes in personalized learning and creating opportunities for students to develop their academic skills! As a learning community, we appreciate the partnership of our Parent Teacher Club (PTC), parent-run Art Vista Parent Group, our School Site Council (SSC), and our English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)! We continue to deeply appreciate the support from the Pioneer community.  We look foward to your participation in our school events and activities. Together let’s celebrate the sounds of hope, optimism, and enthusiasm for an outstanding year ahead!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Jeannette Alday
